We are looking for a migration officer for Detention Unit 7 in Märsta.

With us, you will work on current societal issues that are affected by what happens in our surroundings. Issues that concern and engage. We offer a dynamic environment characterized by meeting people and continuous learning.

In a detention unit, individuals who have received a deportation or expulsion decision are placed and need to be available for enforcement. A person may also be detained if their right to reside in the country or identity needs to be investigated. The detention is a closed unit, and operations are conducted around the clock.

The Swedish Migration Agency has detention centers in six locations in Sweden. Detention Unit 7 in Märsta is responsible for the national case officer on-call service for all detentions and the placement coordination function.

What does a migration officer do?

As a migration officer, you will handle, investigate, decide, and propose decisions in various types of cases. The decisions have legal effects for individuals and affect their rights to benefits, rights, and obligations. Additionally, you will work with administration where you manage files and documents that have been received or created in a case. In your role, you will meet and have conversations with individuals who have cases with the Swedish Migration Agency and other stakeholders. The conversations may involve informing about decisions or explaining the processes of the Migration Agency, as well as guiding and providing service. You will identify and address any special needs of individuals and, where applicable, hold conversations with adults and children in vulnerable situations. You will also have regular contact with the Police Authority and the Prison and Probation Service.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has good collaboration skills, is attentive, and resolves any conflicts constructively. You are service-oriented and accommodating in your approach while being clear in your communication, ensuring that messages are conveyed and expectations are clear for all parties involved. Furthermore, you are structured and can independently plan and organize your work effectively towards set goals and deadlines. You are flexible and can easily adapt and change your perspective and approach in altered circumstances.

In our work as civil servants, high demands are also placed on judgment and a strong awareness of security and confidentiality.
